Norita M. Bishop, a lifelong resident of Upper Perkiomen Valley, passed away on July 31, 2024 at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown.  She was 87 years old.  Born in Sumneytown, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Leona (Schwager) Bishop.

Norita attended Upper Perkiomen High School and worked as an assembler for Accu-Sort Systems, Inc. in Telford for 15 years.  She later drove a school bus for Levy School Bus Co. and Norman Bus Service until her retirement in 2017.  She was an active member of Blue Spruce Riding Club in Alburtis, Green Lane Firehouse Social Club, and Keelersville Club.  She was also an avid camper, horseback rider, and crocheter.  Most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila A. Gibson and her husband, Leroy, of Barto; sons, Wayne L. Bernhard and his wife, Jan, of Boyertown and Darryl W. Bernhard and his wife, Bev, of East Greenville; two grandchildren, Brandon Bernhard and his wife, Jess, of Carlisle and Corey Bernhard and his wife, Kendra, or North Carolina; and four great grandchildren, Olivia, Molly, Paxton, and Austyn.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl M. Bishop.
