Obituary

James Thomas Brown of Richlandtown, PA and formerly of Danville, PA, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the son of the late Clayton and Ellen (Riley) Brown and the beloved husband of Mary Margaret (Pohlman) Brown.

James proudly served in the United States Army after being drafted in the Korean War and Berlin Conflict. He later worked in finance for Aetna and Lincoln National. He was successful in business and always found a way to stay busy outside of work whether it was refinishing antiques or taking on a home improvement project.

James instilled his work ethic in his children and was always proud of their successes. Family was everything to him and he loved spending time together, especially at their home on Lake Huron. He was never as happy or as proud as when the great-grandkids visited.

He is survived by his son, Patrick Brown (Kathleen) of South Bend, IN; his daughter, Rebecca Schone (Evan) of East Greenville, PA; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Shannon, Mary Christine, Sean, and Ryan; four great grandchildren, Everett, Kellan, Nora, and Lucy; and his siblings, Mary Ellen, Richard, Arthur, and Janice. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clayton and Gerald.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral Mass on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Saint Andrew Catholic Church (Olde Church), 135 S. Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940. A visitation will precede the Mass from 9:00 AM -9:45 AM. Interment will take place in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown with a funeral luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in James's name are requested to Vitality Hospice: https://www.vitalityhospice.com/donate.
