Helen Alves, of Pennsburg, passed away in her home on Monday, September 7, 2015. Born in Dublin, Ireland to Jack and Ellen (Farelly) Long, she was the beloved wife of Francis A. Wlad. She retired in 2002 from Bergen County Transportation in Hackensack, NJ. She was also an avid book reader and gardener. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother Oliver Long, sister Betty O'Brien, both of Ireland; and sister Mary (Molly) Driscoll, of Pennsburg. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11AM at St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073. A viewing will precede Mass from 10AM to 11AM at the church.
