Franklin W. Altemose, 79, of Harleysville, PA, passed away at his home on February 8, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Wanda C. Altemose with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in East Stroudsburg, PA, Frank was a son of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Serfass) Altemose. He grew up in Pocono Pines, PA and graduated from Tobyhana Township High School, where he was a member of the basketball team.

Frank earned a B.S. in Education from East Stroudsburg State College, an MAT in Social Science from Chapman College, and an MBA from Golden Gate College. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an Education Specialist at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, CA until his honorable discharge in 1970.

Frank started working as a history teacher at Weatherly Area and East Stroudsburg Area schools, then transitioned to a long career in construction management. He originally worked for the Altemose Construction Co. before establishing FW Altemose, Inc. and working independently until retirement.

In his later years, Frank enjoyed playing golf, reading, travelling, and spending time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his wife, Franklin is survived by his daughters, Lisa Stahl of Schwenksville and Sharon Felegie of Gilbertsville; grandchildren Jeffrey, Abbey, Emma and Genevieve, and his brother Roger, of Harleysville. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur A. Altemose.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 1pm at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 PA-100, Barto, PA 19504. Luncheon to follow.
