Cynthia R. (Shires) Corwin of Pennsburg passed away at home on January 7, 2026.  She was 78 years old.  Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Archibald Thomas and Dorothy (Dewees) Shires.  She was also the beloved wife of the late Robert L. "Poppie" Corwin, III for 27 years until his death in 2023.

Cynthia worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's trucking company until her retirement. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed horseback riding as a child, reading, and spending time at home with her family.  She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.

She is survived by her five children, Joseph, Brenda, Renee, Tara, and Robert; eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren and a few more on the way; and sister, Rebel Shires.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Wesley David Boyd and Robert Shires.

Services will be held at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
